A few significant changes were made after several important games were played in Week 11. Memphis and Virginia fell out of the bracket after suffering losses.

In place of Virginia, the CFP is now projecting No. 15 Miami as the ACC winner, putting them in the bracket. That should pacify a fan base that was upset with Notre Dame being several spots ahead of them last week. South Florida is now the projected Group of 5 automatic bid.

Texas Tech’s 29-7 win over BYU was consequential. The loss dropped the Cougars to No. 12, but out of the bracket. Texas is now ranked No. 10 before traveling to play No. 5 Georgia on Saturday. Oklahoma is at No. 11.

The Red Raiders impressed the committee with a thoroughly dominant win over BYU. Texas Tech moved up to No. 6 before hosting UCF on Saturday.

In the new bracket, TTU would host Miami in the first round, with the winner facing No. 3 Texas A&M in the quarterfinal round.

Following the new rankings release, Texas Tech trended on social media. Here’s a taste of the buzz surrounding the Red Raiders.

“I can see Texas Tech being a top 4 seed come CFP time by winning out,” wrote a fan.

“Texas Tech-Miami would be an insane matchup Especially if you like watching DLine,” posted another.

“Texas Tech jumps us after beating BYU. As much as I think BYU was overrated, that was a really dominant win in Lubbock. I’m okay with this,” argued a poster.

“Texas Tech at 6 in the playoff rankings is a great spot to be. This lines up with a decent chance at a top 4 seed assuming a 12-1 season with a Big 12 championship,” posted a fan.

“My opinion I would of put Texas A&M at 2 and Texas Tech at 5,” believes a fan, who thought the Red Raiders were ranked too low.

“Until I see differnt OSU and Indiana and Texas Tech are fraudulent. The cream will rise,” who thinks TTU’s win was a fluke.

Following Saturday’s game against UCF, the Red Raiders will finish the regular season on the road against West Virginia on Nov. 29.
