Christmas is coming earlier this year — at least for HBO Max subscribers.

Beginning December 1, the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streamer will start streaming one of the most acclaimed TV shows of all time — Mad Men.

AMC+ is the current streaming home for the Matthew Weiner-created series about the advertising industry in the 1960s, but that’s about to change starting next month.

And HBO Max viewers will see the show in a whole new light — literally.

What’s So Special About ‘Mad Men’ on HBO Max?

For the first time ever, all 92 episodes will be available to stream in 4K for HBO Max’s premium subscribers. That’s right, you’ll soon be able to admire every detail of Don’s (Jon Hamm) crisp suits, Betty’s (January Jones) fashion-forward dresses and Joan’s (Christina Hendricks) crimson red hair. In addition to its excellent writing, directing and acting, Mad Men’s production values are top-notch, so to stream them with the best technology available is a gift for longtime fans and newbies alike.

Mad Men is a great addition to the HBO Max library of iconic content,” said Royce Battleman, EVP, Global Content Acquisitions at Warner Bros. Discovery. “We are thrilled that HBO Max will provide fans the opportunity to enjoy the series in a fresh way with an enhanced 4K viewing experience.”

Mad Men continues to show truly remarkable staying power with audiences a full decade after concluding its network run, and we couldn’t imagine a better home for it than HBO Max,” said Jim Packer, President of Worldwide Television Distribution at Lionsgate. “HBO sets the bar for premium entertainment, making it the perfect place to celebrate one of television’s defining series while introducing Mad Men to new viewers and reintroducing it to longtime fans in 4K.”

Which ‘Mad Men’ Episodes Should You Watch in 4K?

Well, all of them, of course. But the most visually impressive episodes are also some of Mad Men’s best ever, period. “The Sitcause” is largely a two-character chamber piece that chronicles Don and Peggy’s all-nighter while everyone watches Muhammad Ali beat Sonny Liston, but the episode’s distinct visuals, especially the scenes when Don and Peggy grab a bite to eat and get to know one another, make it a worthy candidate for high-definition television viewing.

Of course, the show’s final episode, “Person to Person,” where Don spends time at a spiritual retreat on the California coast, lends itself to 4K visuals, especially that unforgettable last shot. But give the two prior episodes, “Lost Horizon” and “The Milk and Honey Route,” a viewing. Don’s cross-country journey to find himself reaches its high point there, with some gorgeous on-location cinematography capturing America’s heartland in 1970.

Mad Men stars Jon Hamm, Vincent Kartheiser, Elisabeth Moss, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Rich Sommer, Aaron Staton, Kiernan Shipka, Jessica Pare and John Slattery. Some of the show’s prominent guest actors include Alexis Bledel, Linda Cardellini, Colin Hanks, Zosia Mamet, Neve Campbell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Harry Hamlin and Anna Camp. The show won 16 Emmys while it was on the air from 2007 to 2015, including Best Actor for Hamm, and received 116 nominations.
