A Long Island man who allegedly smashed up and slashed the tires of nearly a dozen police cruisers parked outside the NYPD’s newest station house was busted after he nearly backed into cops on his tail –and then promptly cut loose in court, cops and prosecutors said.

Christian Genwright, 22, of Valley Stream, allegedly defaced five marked and six unmarked NYPD vehicles near the 116th Precinct headquarters on North Conduit Avenue in Rosedale around 11:20 p.m. on Monday — then drove off in the luxury getaway car, according to police.

He allegedly used a knife to slash the tires of seven vehicles and smashed the windshields of four others with a hammer – causing an airbag to deploy on one, which also had driver’s side mirror damage, cops and prosecutors said.

Genwright was picked up around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday on 244th Street, where eagle-eyed officers saw the silver Lexus and tried to stop it, but he intentionally reversed, nearly hitting their cruiser, police said.

He was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, 14 counts of criminal mischief, resisting arrest and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He was arraigned Wednesday night on 10 counts of criminal mischief, according to a criminal complaint.

Genwright was cut loose on supervised release by Judge Jennifer Tubridy because the charges are not eligible for bail under state law, the Queens District Attorney’s Office said.

He has six prior arrests, the most recent from Feb. 7 for allegedly violating traffic law while driving on the highway, fleeing from police and becoming “combative” with cops, police said.

He is set to reappear in court on the latest case on Jan. 21, prosecutors said.

The nearly $105 million 116th Precinct station house — which opened less than a year ago in December of 2024 — is the first entirely new NYPD command established in more than a decade, with the last one opening in 2013.

NYPD officers assigned to the 116th Precinct patrol the neighborhoods of  Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Brookville and Laurelton.
