Morgan Wallen has scored plenty of No. 1 hits across all of Billboard’s many charts throughout his career. The country favorite has been expanding his reach lately, earning new wins on tallies he’s either never reached before or never ruled.
Alongside Post Malone, Wallen earns his first No. 1 on a ranking he’s never managed to top in the past. The singer-songwriter dominates the Adult Pop Airplay chart this frame with what has turned out to be his most successful collaboration.
“I Had Some Help” rules the Adult Pop Airplay chart this frame. The single lifts from the runner-up rung to the throne on Billboard’s ranking of the most successful tracks at adult top 40 stations throughout the U.S.
While the tune may be the inaugural ruler for Wallen, the same can’t be said for Malone. The rapper-turned-rocker-turned-country star has previously ruled the Adult Pop Airplay chart with two other smashes, including one that spent time on top earlier this year.
Malone first reached the No. 1 spot on the Adult Pop Airplay chart half a decade ago with his smash “Circles.” That tune helped him pivot from the hip-hop sound that made him a star to pure pop. Just a few weeks ago, he returned to the summit alongside Taylor Swift, as the two made their tune “Fortnight” into a proper smash on a number of rankings.
While “I Had Some Help” may be Wallen’s first No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay list, he has appeared inside the top 10 before. His solo single “Last Night” reached No. 5 in 2023, bringing him to the highest tier for the first time. Two other tunes, “Wasted on You” (No. 14) and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” (No. 18) stalled not far behind the No. 10 position.
As “I Had Some Help” continues to rise on some tallies, such as the Adult Pop Airplay chart, both artists have shifted their focus to newer tunes. Malone has dropped two proper singles since his first country smash, and his collaborations with both Blake Shelton and Luke Combs have become chart wins. Wallen, meanwhile, doled out “Lies Lies Lies,” which was an immediate top 10 on several Billboard lists, including the Hot 100.
