Nothing is worse than hungrily opening your takeout and realizing it’s the most unappetizing meal you’ve ever ordered.
Well, that happened to one diner who tried cooking his steak tartare because he was confused about why it was delivered raw.
In a now viral post on X (formerly Twitter), Denislav Gavrilov shared what he thought was an AI image of raw meat and an egg that would be cooked after placing his order.
“I deada– thought this was an AI image and the egg + meat would come prepared Um… what the actual?” he wrote above side-by-side images of steak tartare, which is a popular French appetizer that consists of chopped high quality raw beef prepared with various seasonings, often served with a raw egg yolk on top that he clearly had no idea was even a thing.
Confused when his raw meat arrived, he took one bite, was repulsed by it and figured he could make it taste better by cooking it.
Well, that didn’t go over well either.
“Ate a bite & this sh– was disgusting so I got to work, only to try it and realise it’s 10x worse this way,” he then tweeted above a picture of what looked like a sad burger patty.
Of course, people ripped this guy apart in the thread of his post, shocked he had no clue what tartare was.
“The levels of stupidity to get to this point are unreal. Genuine question…how often do you go outside?” one snarky comment read.
“This is an example of what we call an ‘uncultured swine,’” someone else joked.
“Doordashing steak tartare, not knowing what it is (he assumed the photo was AI generated and ordered it anyway??), being upset that it’s raw, and cooking it into a hockey puck is absolutely god tier troglodyte tech bro behavior,” someone bluntly summed up.
Well, Gavrilov wasn’t letting these comments go without putting up a fight.
He ran back to X to defend his lack of steak tartare knowledge, writing: “To the HATERS, dare a white boy say he never knew such a thing, a ‘tartare’ existed..? Can’t a balkan boy not know eating raw meat poured with umm raw yolk (??) is a thing? A ‘artare’ is a perversion, is what it is You perverted ELITES.”
