The loss of 49ers linebacker Fred Warner due to a broken and dislocated ankle will be huge for the rest of the season, as San Francisco is already without star defensive end Nick Bosa for the remainder of the year with a torn ACL.

One wide receiver on the 49ers who played through an injury didn’t appreciate how head coach Kyle Shanahan used him in the first half of Sunday’s game.

Per Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group, Jauan Jennings and Shanahan had a heated moment on the sideline, leading to the staff intervening.

“Shanahan again yelling at Jennings, who is standing behind him ,” Inman posted on X. “Jennings says something back..Kyle shoots look at him…staff intervenes Kyle trying to call plays in frantic two-minute drill 49ers have ball at TB 24 with 11 seconds left in half.”

Shanahan and Jennings continued to argue to the point that the head coach’s security detail had to keep the receiver away.

“Kyle and Jennings still going at it,” Inman posted. “Kyle covers his mouth with playcard while Shanahan’s security detail Mike Anderson keeps Jennings away.”

Jennings did not participate in practice on Wednesday this week and was placed on the injury report for having ankle and rib injuries. San Francisco listed him as questionable to play against the Buccaneers after being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Jennings was able to play through the injuries, but he wasn’t a big part of the 49ers game plan. He caught one pass for seven yards on three targets.

San Francisco dropped to 4-2 following the loss on Sunday. The battle-weary 49ers will next host the Atlanta Falcons for “Sunday Night Football” in Week 7.
