4BC Breakfast host Peter Fegan signed off on Friday morning, telling listeners to look after themselves, and that he would be back on Monday at 5.30am as usual.

“As I like to say: Be good, Brissie,” he said. “I’ll catch you then.”
About an hour later, staff received an email announcing that Fegan had finished up with 4BC, and interim hosts would cover the show for the remainder of the year.
Fegan has hosted the breakfast timeslot since Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine left in late 2024. Previously he hosted 4BC Weekends and worked as a reporter for Nine Queensland.
4BC is owned by Nine, the publisher of this masthead.
The move comes after the show’s ratings dipped, with the audience share down to 3.6 per cent from 4.1 per cent. The station’s overall share rose slightly to 5.3 per cent, from its previous 4.8 per cent.
In the email to staff, content manager Siobhain McDonnell thanked Fegan for his time on 4BC Breakfast and “for bringing a cracking NRL season to life on air with his passion and enthusiasm for his beloved Broncos”.
