Meghan Markle’s acting career consisted of more than just Rachel Zane on Suits.

While the USA Network show — on which she starred from 2011 to 2018 — might be her most notable role to date, the Duchess of Sussex has a pretty extensive filmography. And, no, we’re not just talking about Deal or No Deal.

Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan took a step back from her acting career.

“I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility,” Meghan said in a 2017 interview.

When the couple left the royal family in 2020, they relocated to California and became more involved in Hollywood. Both Harry and Meghan took on roles behind the camera, signing a massive deal with Netflix, but she always teased returning to her acting roots.

“I’m done [acting],” Meghan told Variety in a 2022 interview. “I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”

It seems that something might have changed her mind. News broke in November 2025 that Meghan had stepped back on set. Multiple outlets reported that Meghan had joined Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding for the movie Close Personal Friends. It was reported that Meghan will be playing herself in the movie, which was filming in Pasadena, California, at the time.

Details about the film were not released at the time.

One source told People that Meghan has “a small part” in the movie and seemed “very relaxed and happy” to be on set. “She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth,” they added.

An additional insider told The Sun that it’s a “massive moment” for Meghan and “signifies a return to doing what she truly loves.” While there’s been a high demand for Meghan to make her return to the screen, this offer “felt right,” the same source told the publication.

“It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set,” The Sun’s source added. “Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement.”

Meghan herself kept things about her appearance quiet. Keep scrolling to look back at some of Meghan’s more under-the-radar roles:

‘General Hospital’

In 2001, Meghan appeared in two episodes of the ABC soap opera. She played Jill, a nurse at the titular hospital, who answers the phone during a conversation between characters Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Notably, Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, won Daytime Emmy Awards in 1982 and 2011 for his work as a lighting director on the show.

‘Fringe’

Meghan appeared in two episodes of the Joshua Jackson-led series in 2009. She played FBI Special Agent Amy Jessup during the second season, and fans were confused about her disappearance after the first two episodes that year.

Showrunner Jeff Pinker once hinted at bringing her character back. However, Meghan got her Suits role, which stopped that from ever happening.

‘Get Him to the Greek’

While she appeared as Tatiana in the 2010 movie, Meghan’s role was an uncredited one. She famously kissed Russell Brand for the movie, which he has spoken about.

“I don’t remember the film that much. I think I planted one on her in the scene,” he said during a 2018 interview. “I only know this because I think I saw a clip of it somewhere.”

‘Horrible Bosses’

Meghan was a FedEx employee named Jamie in the 2011 movie.

‘Castle’

She also appeared in one episode of Castle in 2012 as Charlotte Boyd.
