There’s a new moon rising in the sign of sex, death, secrets and power, folks.

When is the new moon

The new moon in Scorpio peaks on November 20, 2025 at 1:47 a.m. Eastern Time at 28°11 Scorpio.

New moon phase

A new moon occurs when the moon is in conjunction with the sun — and thus is no longer visible from our earthly vantage. As such, the new moon always falls in the same zodiac sign that the sun is moving through.

The new moon is a clean slate, turning over the fresh dirt of a month-long lunar cycle. The sky goes dark, and we go deep, especially under the influence of Scorpio.

November new moon 2025

Scorpio is ruled by Mars, the planet of vitality, and Pluto, the luminary of death.

It is through the reconciliation of these extremes that Scorpio finds its ultimate power.

“The New Moon in Scorpio on November 20 is an intense turning point — all about transformation, hidden truths emerging. I have pulled one card per element, revealing the secret or shadow each person must face now,” author and tarot reader Kerry Ward told The Post.

New moons are potent times for manifestation practices. Because this new moon falls in the threshold sign of death during the time of year when the proverbial veil between worlds is thinnest, it’s an excellent occasion to seek advice from ancestors and initiate a dialogue with the departed or seek answers in the esoteric.

Below Ward illuminates what lies ahead and within under the dark skies of this powerful New Moon.

When’s the next new moon?

The next new moon, and the last one of 2025, is the new moon in Sagittarius on December 19.

Fire signs – Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Three of Wands

Ward shared that the Three of Wands points to a truth that can no longer be ignored and a ceaseless energy of revelation.

“The signs are all around you. Unseen forces are bringing you omens every day. Look at your dreams, coincidences, de ja vu moments, and serendipitous encounters. Draw lines, see patterns, and join the dots. Something, or someone, from beyond is trying to get you to pay attention,” said Ward.

Earth signs – Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Ten of Coins

For earth signs, the new moon in Scorpio is a summons to look within and ahead.

“You must make long-term plans and goals in your material, foundational life areas, such as health, wealth, and work,” said Ward.

She urges earth signs to look ahead to determine what actions can be taken today to make way for the future you deserve.

“The foundations are ready to be laid. You are the driver of your destiny. It is time to build the palaces, prosperity, vitality and well-being you crave. This is your responsibility, take control and think BIG”

Air signs – Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Knight of Cups

For air signs, love is in the ether this new moon, brought to you brimming from the Knight of Cups.

“Maybe you don’t want to admit it, maybe it’s not with the person you’re MEANT to be in love with, maybe it’s a new relationship that you’re trying to take slow. But Cupid has struck, and you are smitten. Why deny it?” said Ward.

She notes that when attraction strikes, the air is charged with the energy of that draw.

“The signs are visible, the chemistry is real. Admit your feelings. Say it out loud (maybe to the mirror first) and be brave enough to embark on an uncertain relationship.”

Water signs – Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Four of Wands

Ward notes that this new moon and the Four of Wands suggest water signs have long outgrown a certain container or identity.

“You are ready to branch out, explore, get to the next level, and seek a new horizon. Things just aren’t cutting it anymore; you feel frustrated and a bit stuck,” said Ward.

She notes that while a new move is a definite risk, terminal dissatisfaction is far more dangerous to your spirit than the great unknown.

“So, say how you feel, and get the ball rolling to make a power move in a new direction.”
