One WWE star who hasn’t been seen on TV for a while is set to make his return. WWE is advertising “NXT” star Tony D’Angelo for a live event in Detroit on Friday. There’s no word on if “The Don” will be wrestling or if he’ll be making an appearance in another form. The show is also set to feature NXT Champion Oba Femi and TNA World Champion Trick Williams.
Tickets for the show are still available on AXS. The event takes place just two days before some “NXT” talent perform at the “TNA Bound For Glory” pay-per-view in Lowell.

Tony D’Angelo’s Absence
D’Angelo’s last appearance on WWE TV took place on the July 29 episode of “NXT.” He was approached by a mysterious person, and WWE has yet to explain his absence in storyline. It was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the former leader of The Family requested time off.
As far as D’Angelo’s most recent match is concerned, he performed during a house show on July 25. He emerged victorious against Anthony Luke in a singles match. Most “NXT” fans haven’t seen D’Angelo in a match since he defeated Channing Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino on July 15, since it was his most recent televised outing.
It isn’t known if WWE will acknowledge D’Angelo’s planned appearance on “NXT.” With the developmental brand set to begin the road to “Stand & Deliver” at the start of 2026, one would figure that D’Angelo will be factored into major storyline plans in the coming weeks.
