SILVER SPRING, Md. (DC News Now) — Officials said six cars were damaged after a vehicle fire broke out on the fifth floor of a parking garage in Silver Spring on Monday evening.

The parking garage was at 801 Ellsworth Dr. near Fenton Street.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman, Pete Piringer, said the fire broke out around 6:20 p.m.

Crews had to evacuate the parking garage and extinguish the fire.

The fire was ruled an accident and caused about $80,000 in damages, Piringer said.

No injuries were reported.
