Supporters of former President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement lavished praise on model Amber Rose for her speech at Monday’s Republican National Convention.

Rose, formerly a Trump critic, endorsed the former president in May. Regardless, an avalanche of Republican backlash emerged earlier this month after it was reported that she would be speaking at the convention, due in part to her involvement in spearheading the Los Angeles “SlutWalk”—a feminist movement against slut-shaming and sexual assault.

During her speech on Monday, Rose said that she realized Trump and his supporters were her “people” because they “love” all people “whether you’re Black, white, gay or straight.” Trump could be seen during the speech smiling from the audience while wearing a large bandage over his right ear.

“I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re Black, white, gay or straight,” Rose said. “It’s all love. And that’s when it hit me: These are my people. This is where I belong.”

Rose was quickly praised for her speech by Trump supporters on X, formerly Twitter.

“Even Amber Rose knows. All the media does is lie about Donald Trump..!” wrote MAGA influencer Gunther Eagleman while sharing a clip of Rose claiming that “the media has lied to us about Donald Trump.”

“The RNC should continue embracing people like Amber Rose,” conservative commentator Christian Watson wrote. “You cannot preach conservatism to an audience that already agrees with you. You cannot model virtue before a crowd of saints. And most importantly, you cannot judge someone for being a human when you are no better.”

“Amber Rose gave a classy and heartfelt speech – admitting she was lied to by the media, and saw the light after doing her own research,” wrote @saras76.

“Amber Rose Gave one hell of a heartfelt Speech…. Very touching,” @MJTruthUltra wrote. “She believed the MSM lies about Trump that he was racist and Horrible … Her Veteran father challenged her to prove that he was a racist and bad… She did her research, attended rallies, and her entire world changed.”

“She got over the fear of being canceled by the left if she came out to support Trump … ‘She found her people…’ THE GREAT AWAKENING!” they continued, repeating a slogan popular among believers of the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory.

On CNN, conservative commentator Scott Jennings praised Rose as “super talented,” arguing that her speech was “how you change the composition of the electorate.”

Newsweek reached out for comment to Trump’s office via email on Monday night.

Others were less than impressed by Rose and her speech.

“I don’t know anyone who takes their political cues from Amber Rose,” MSNBC host Joy Reid said during a broadcast. “But just in case you do, you might want to duplicate doing your own research, because she might not have done it thoroughly.”

“There is zero percent chance he knows who she is,” columnist Justin Baragona wrote while sharing an image of Trump watching Rose’s speech.

Conservative anti-transgender activist and self-described “theocratic fascist” Matt Walsh called Rose’s speech “an embarrassment” that would not mobilize “a single voter” in an X post, while denouncing the Republican Party for giving “a primetime speaking slot to a pro-abortion feminist and self-proclaimed slut with a face tattoo whose only claim to fame is having sex with rappers.”

“No lies detected,” replied conservative talk show host Steve Deace.
