UPDATE — 12/3/25 at 12:35 p.m. ET: A forensic analysis by the Technical-Scientific Police and an investigation by the São Paulo Civil Police ruled that Barbara Jankavski died from accidental cocaine use, local outlet g1 reported.
Despite the report, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo and Jankavski’s family moved the case to appear before the Jury Court and are alleging that Jankavski might have been murdered, the outlet reported.
Original story:
Influencer Bárbara Jankavski has died at age 31.
The content creator — who was known on social media as “Boneca Desumana,” which translates to “inhuman doll” — died on Sunday, November 2. (Jankavski was also referred to online as “Human Barbie Doll.”)
A police report obtained by CNN Brasil claimed that 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto testified that he was with Jankavski the night she died. He also claimed to have hired her for “sexual services,” alleging they used illicit substances.
After Jankavski fell asleep, he noticed that she wasn’t moving and called the Mobile Emergency Care Service. He tried to resuscitate her for nine minutes before medics arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead.
CNN Brasil cited São Paulo State Military Police, who claimed that Jankavski was only wearing underwear when her body was discovered by authorities. She also allegedly had an injury on her left eye and marks on her back.
Per the police report, a friend claimed that Jankavski’s injury to her face was due to a previous accident where she slipped and fell. The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has requested autopsy and toxicology tests, the outlet reported. The case was registered as a suspect.
Jankavski had more than 55,000 followers on Instagram and 344,000 followers on TikTok, where she shared her cosmetic procedures. The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday, November 5, that Jankavski underwent at least 27 plastic surgeries, which cost her more than $56,000 total.
Jankavski’s Instagram account does not appear to have been updated following her death. In her last post, she shared a video on October 1 with influencer Avós Da Razão.
“@avosdarazao I would love to meet you, beautiful, full of energy, life and good humor!!!” Jankavski captioned the post.
Da Razão has since commented on the post, sharing her condolences in the wake of Jankavski’s death. “How sad 😢 Rest in peace flower 😢 🙌,” Da Razão wrote.
Other users have also paid tribute to Jankavski. “Rest in peace diva, you lived a bit of the life that I always wanted, that comforts us a bit 😢,” one user wrote, while another added, “So young, may God receive her with open arms, and give comfort to her family and friends! 😢.” Another wrote, “Rest in peace Barbie 😢 Follow the light 🤍.”
In September, Jankavski shared a series of photos of her wearing a pink outfit and styling her hair in loose blonde waves, appearing to channel her inner Barbie.
“No way, I was born to be blond,” she captioned the post, which has since amassed several comments from users mourning her death.
“You will always be a star my friend, thank you for being a light on my path. You will always be shining in my memories, thank you for all the magical and happy moments. ♥️,” one user wrote, while another added, “So young, so full of life… Rest in peace Barbara. May God receive her with lots of love and comfort all her family and friends.”
