Buffalo Bills quarterback and centerpiece Josh Allen isn’t having the most fun of weeks.

On Tuesday, he will watch as his fellow Pro Bowlers have fun in San Francisco, having pulled out due to injuries sustained during the postseason.

Two days later, he will watch as his defense of the NFL MVP award ends, with either Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford or New England Patriots QB Drake Maye being named the league’s top player.

And finally, and far most importantly, he’ll have to watch on Sunday as Maye and the Patriots take on Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks for the Lombardi Trophy.

Maye, who is only in his second year as a pro. And Darnold, who was drafted in the same draft class as Allen.

Although Allen would rather be playing in the big game than analyzing it, today on FOX Sports, he opened up about the matchup and was asked who he was rooting for in Sunday’s finale.

He had a clear answer for the team and player he was rallying behind.

“Sam Darnold, that’s my boy,” Allen said on “First Things First” on Tuesday. “We go back to the draft. Even before the draft, we’d hung out at the Touchdown Club of Columbus, going into his sophomore year and my junior year. We live pretty close together. We spend a lot of time during the offseason together playing gold. I’m rooting for my man there, who is wearing #14 for the Seattle Seahawks.”

Allen and Darnold are forever linked by the now-iconic 2018 NFL Draft, where the pair, along with Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Rosen, were all selected in the first round as quarterbacks. Four of them went on to be massive successes in their own respective ways in the league aside from Rosen, who was replaced instantly in the next draft by the Arizona Cardinals for Kyler Murray.

Allen hopes to join Darnold as the second QB of that class to make the Super Bowl next season in Los Angeles, now with new head coach Joe Brady.
