The Buffalo Bills are entering a new era with Joe Brady taking over as head coach following the firing of Sean McDermott after a postseason loss to the Denver Broncos. However, the objective remains unchanged — bringing a Super Bowl title to Buffalo.
They’ve consistently been one of the AFC’s top contenders but have struggled to break through in the postseason during Josh Allen’s tenure, largely due to repeated battles with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the shortcomings don’t rest solely on Allen’s shoulders, the repeated playoff exits have become a growing frustration for the fan base.

One of the team’s most pressing needs this offseason is wide receiver. The Bills have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since Stefon Diggs in 2023. Although there is promising talent in Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman, more production is required.
According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, rival teams expect Buffalo to aggressively pursue help at the position in free agency.
One name drawing interest is unrestricted free agent and Super Bowl champion Rashid Shaheed, who won a title with Seattle and is considered one of the more prominent receivers available this offseason.
“Rival teams expect Buffalo to strongly address wide receiver in the coming weeks. And multiple league executives are linking Rashid Shaheed or Romeo Doubs to the Bills. Alec Pierce will most likely be out of their price range,” the ESPN report stated.
The Seattle Seahawks acquired Rashid Shaheed in a midseason trade, and he quickly emerged as one of the missing pieces in their Super Bowl run. As a result, it’s unlikely Seattle would let him walk without a strong push to retain him.
However, if the Bills present an offer the Seahawks aren’t willing to match, Shaheed would represent a major addition to an offense that could use a true field-stretcher capable of taking the top off opposing secondaries.
Buffalo has also been linked to several other wide receivers, including Mike Evans, but financial constraints could limit their flexibility. Even if the Bills restructure contracts to create cap space, they will need to be strategic. According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, Shaheed is projected to command roughly $6–12 million annually — a price point that may ultimately determine how aggressive Buffalo can be.
