An out-of-control bushfire is threatening a retirement village on the state’s south coast.
Residents in Worrowing Heights near Jervis Bay were told just before 6pm on Sunday it was too late to leave their homes.

“Seek shelter now inside a solid structure such as a house,” the NSW Rural Fire Service said.
The fire is burning south of The Wool Road and to the west and east of Larmer Avenue and is not yet controlled.
The RFS said variable north-westerly winds meant the fire may affect homes and properties in the area of Worrowing Heights.
Waterbombing aircraft have been deployed to slow the spread of the fire.
“If you are in the Worrowing Heights area, south of The Wool Road, east of Larmer Ave you are in danger. It is now too late to leave. Seek shelter now inside a solid structure such as a house.”
The RFS said those in the area of Sanctuary Point, Old Erowal Bay and Erowal Bay should prepare now.
More to come.
