Steph Curry turned heads ahead of his return to the Golden State Warriors’ lineup on Friday night.
After knocking in a ridiculously far shot after his pregame warmup routine, even the WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark couldn’t believe that the shot was real.
“This has to be AI,” Clark wrote on social media.
Curry is no stranger to putting together viral shots before he heads back into the Warriors’ locker room ahead of a big game.
However, Friday’s sequence had many basketball fans, along with Clark, questioning whether it was AI or not.
Clark might be one of the biggest names in basketball with some highly impressive long-range shots under her belt, but Curry’s viral make was still stunning for the two-year pro.
Curry Returns to Action for the Warriors
Friday’s game marks the first time Curry is on the floor since recovering from his quad contusion.
During a November 26 battle against the Houston Rockets, Curry collided with a player later in the game. He went back to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The following day, Curry received an official diagnosis of a quad contusion after getting an MRI. At the time, the Warriors were optimistic about his chances of returning to the court soon, but they didn’t avoid multiple absences.
The initial timeline for Curry was one week before he would undergo an evaluation. The Warriors missed Curry for their past five games. During that stretch, Golden State went 3-2, winning their previous two games.
Before he went down with his injury, Curry appeared in 16 games. He averaged 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. The star guard shot 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three.
The Warriors are working on picking up their third win in a row with a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
