A touchdown wasn’t scored in Saturday night’s divisional showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears until late in the third quarter, but the game quickly turned into an instant classic.

Green Bay held a 16–6 lead in the final minutes, but the Bears cut the deficit to 16–9 before successfully recovering an onside kick with 1:59 remaining.

Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams then led the Bears down the field, capping the drive with a six-yard touchdown pass to Jahdae Walker on fourth-and-goal to tie the game at 16 and force overtime.

In the extra period, Chicago forced a turnover, and just three plays later, Williams threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore to secure a dramatic 22–16 victory. The win improved the Bears to 11–4 on the season, while the Packers fell to 9–5–1.

Williams finished the game completing 19 of 34 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 30 rushing yards on three carries. He did so without two of his top wide receivers, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden.

Despite those absences, Williams still made NFL history. He tied Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning for the most fourth-quarter comeback wins in a single season by a player under the age of 25, with six and counting.

Chicago still has two games remaining, but for now, the Bears are firmly in control of the NFC North. One more win — or a Packers loss — would officially clinch the division over the final two weeks of the season.

Their remaining schedule won’t be easy, however. In Week 17, Chicago travels to San Francisco for a matchup against the 49ers (10–4), before returning home in Week 18 to host the Detroit Lions (8–6).
