The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and lost another quarterback to injury in the process, as Gardner Minshew — making his first start of the season — exited with a knee injury in the first half and did not return.
With just two games remaining in the regular season, speculation surrounding veteran tight end Travis Kelce continues to swirl. At 36 years old and set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, many believe this could be the ideal time for Kelce to hang up his cleats and call it a career.
Before any decisions are made, however, Kelce appears to be in line for another Pro Bowl selection. It was revealed on Monday that he is once again the leading vote-getter in fan voting for the second straight year.
Ironically, that news has sparked frustration among NFL fans who believe Kelce has not produced at a level this season that warrants being the top vote-getter, reigniting criticism of the current Pro Bowl voting rules.

“Once again, the fans’ obsession puts a spotlight on the superstar, leaving the quiet grinders in the shadows,” a fan said.
Someone else added, “What an absolute joke. This should be about getting the best players, not the players whose fans stuff the ballot box. Has no credibility. Pull the plug on this nonsense.”
Another person wrote, “Second year in a row for Kelce… meanwhile rookie Brock Bowers is breaking records. Fan vote = popularity contest confirmed.”
“Remove fan voting,” a fan shared.
One more fan commented, “Voting from fans should not be something that puts these players in pro bowls, mvp contention, etc… this is a paid bonus attribute and should be based off season stats only. Stop with the popularity crap!”
Kelce finished Sunday’s loss to Tennessee with just one catch for six yards. Even so, he remains one of the more productive tight ends in the NFL this season, recording 68 receptions for 803 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 11.8 yards per catch.
To reach the 1,000-yard mark, Kelce would need to average roughly 100 receiving yards per game over the final two weeks — a milestone he has not reached since the 2022 season.
