Chelsea Green has stated that she believes WWE could be doing more with its newer women’s championships. Green was the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion.
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, she said she would like to see the Women’s US and Intercontinental titles defended more frequently on television.
Green on Creating Opportunities
Green expressed her happiness that the titles were introduced. She felt they provided more opportunities for a deep women’s roster. This is the same feeling that WWE fans are showing on social media.

“I definitely am so happy that we introduced those titles, because I felt like for a long time we were missing opportunities for a bunch of the girls. We just have such a stacked roster between Raw SmackDown, NXT… We have so many different brands, and we just didn’t have enough titles to really represent all the girls and the variety of women.”
She added, “I think that they’ve been a beautiful addition in terms of getting people in the mix, getting women to have a spot on TV.”
Despite this, Green feels there is room for improvement. “Do I think that we’re doing all we can with them? No. I would love to see more being done with them. I want Giulia to be wrestling on TV every single week with that title… There’s so many hours of WWE, and we can find a place for those championships if we try. It’s tough.”
Adding credence to Green’s comments, neither the current Women’s United States Champion Giulia nor the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria are scheduled for a match at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event. The absence of the titles from the announced card highlights the lack of consistent featured programming Green discussed.
