Last year, the Texas Tech Red Raiders — Patrick Mahomes’ alma mater — began a 10-year partnership with Adidas, the same company that has had Mahomes as one of its premier athletes since he signed with the brand in 2017 as a rookie with the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Saturday, while in Lubbock, Texas, for “College GameDay” and the massive showdown between the No. 7 BYU Cougars and No. 8 Texas Tech, Mahomes made a major announcement with Adidas as they officially launched the second “Team Mahomes” NIL class.

As part of the initiative, five Texas Tech athletes are featured: returning members softball star NiJaree Canady and soccer standout Sam Courtwright, along with newcomers quarterback Behren Morton, basketball star Christian Anderson, and track athlete Malachi Snow.

Mahomes has continued to be a loyal supporter of Texas Tech, giving back to the university and its athletic programs whenever he can — and this latest effort is yet another massive gesture from the Chiefs star during his NFL bye week.

“Texas Tech will always be home for me, so I’m proud to give back to the school and community who helped shape me on and off the field,” Mahomes said. “As the partnership with Adidas continues to evolve and expand, we’re redefining not just the future of Red Raider sports, but college athletics more widely.”

Mahomes, who also served as the “College GameDay” celebrity guest picker, was seen sporting his custom Adidas “Too Cold” Texas Tech uniform — featuring his signature gladiator logo — which the Red Raiders debuted on Saturday against BYU.
