An extraordinary sign that comforted a couple who lost their first baby has gone viral on TikTok, and a mom has told Newsweek of the event which left her sobbing after the birth of her second daughter.

Rachael Mamigonian, from Denver, Colorado, is still in disbelief about the “incredible divine intervention.”

Her first daughter, Emsley, died a few days after she was born in August 2021 from Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy—”a brain injury that occurs in babies due to a lack of oxygen for a prolonged period of time,” Mamigonian told Newsweek.

Mamigonian fell pregnant again a few years later with her rainbow baby, one that is born after one that was lost, and around her due date, asked Emsley to send her signs that her little sister would arrive safely.

What happened next gave the internet “chills.”

The TikTok video, which has been viewed almost one million times, shows a balloon that got caught in a tree in Mamigonian’s garden on the day she and husband Gabe left for the hospital to have her second daughter, which read ‘wishing you a happy birthday.’

Speaking of that morning, the 31-year-old told Newsweek: “We were leaving early in the morning for the hospital because my water broke and that’s when we saw it in our tree. It was actually the tree where we have our daughter’s memorial plaque.

“My husband even said that he had seen that balloon floating around our house the night before. We ended up having another traumatic birth and emergency C-section and it was comforting to think about our guardian angel watching over us and reassuring us that everything would be OK.”

After sharing her “favorite story” on TikTok, comments poured in and each person was touched by the sign.

One wrote “As someone who believes and follows signs this is so incredibly beautiful and happy that she sent that to you.”

Another mom shared “The night I lost my first baby, someone told me I had made a star and a year later when my son was born he had a tiny star on his arm. I know it was a sign from her.”

The Mamigonian family has been open about their experience with grief and said it’s been a “healing part” of their parenting journey after loss.

“Reactions to the video (along with others that I’ve posted) have been so heartwarming to read; so many people sharing their own stories of hope after loss and even skeptics saying that they now believe in signs from above after seeing this special moment,” Mamigonian shared with Newsweek.

“Everyone says the same thing: instant goose bumps! We still get them too when we reflect back on it. This was just one of many amazing signs that our daughter has sent us. We miss her so much but we know she’s always with us in spirit.”
