The Dallas Cowboys’ offense has not skipped a beat without injured star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, which has fans quite excited for what the offense could look like when Lamb is able to return. Fortunately, based on news the team received about Lamb on Wednesday, Cowboys fans may not have to wait too much longer to see their offense back at full strength.
Lamb has missed the team’s last three games after suffering a high-ankle sprain in their Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears. Since then, Dallas has score at least 27 points in its last three games, which is largely due to the emergence of George Pickens as one of the more dangerous wide receivers in all of football.
Now that Pickens appears to be comfortable in the Cowboys’ offense, it sure seems like the Cowboys passing attack will be even stronger when Lamb is also able to return for Dallas, which could come sooner rather than later.

On Wednesday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared an update on Lamb, declaring that a Week 7 return is on the table. This was backed up by the fact that Lamb will actually be able to practice on Wednesday, according to Cowboys beat reporter Jon Machota.

This is certainly significant for Lamb’s chances of potentially returning for the Cowboys’ Week 7 clash with the Washington Commanders, an important NFC East game that could go on to have major implications in a divisional race that is tightening.
Unfortunately for Dallas, for as good as their offense may very well be when Lamb is able to return, their defense has certainly done them no favors in 2025.
Thus far, the Cowboys’ defense has been among the worst in football, allowing a league-high average of 411.7 yards per game on the year. Additionally, they have allowed 30.7 points per game, which is second-most only behind the Baltimore Ravens.
With this in mind, Lamb’s potential return may loom large in how Dallas looks against the Commanders in what on paper profiles to be a shootout in the making. So it will be interesting to see how Lamb’s practice session goes and whether he can parlay this positive momentum into a Week 7 return for the Cowboys, who desperately need a win sitting at 2-3-1 on the season.
