A U.K woman is going viral on the internet for the moment her family realized that their airport transport wasn’t quite what they had imagined.

Rosie Taylor (@rosietaylor991) explained in a clip on TikTok that her dad Matthew, 52, had been given “one job” before they jetted off to Turkey for a family vacation: organizing the transport to the airport.

“I remember getting a call from my mom who was hysterically laughing,” Rosie, 30, told Newsweek. “She said you’re not going to believe the transport.”

It turned out that Matthew had taken his job very seriously and ordered a full-size coach, which pulled up to the house and collected everyone.

The trip, taken in 2023, was a reunion of sorts. Seven family members—Rosie’s grandmother Carol, her husband Robbie, and their children Ivie and Albert—were finally headed to Turkey after a planned holiday during COVID never materialized.

With such a large group, Rosie and her mom, Lorraine, decided it made sense for the two of them to handle booking flights and accommodation, while Matthew took charge of getting everyone to the airport.

After receiving the call from Lorraine, Rosie then heard a loud beep. She looked out of the window and saw an enormous coach making its way toward the house.

The reason, they later learned, was pure timing. The famous Royal Ascot horse racing meeting was on the same day, and every minivan in the area had already been snapped up. The coach was the only option available.

“None of us, including my dad, had any idea about it until it arrived,” Rosie added.

Thankfully, the whole family found the transport mishap hilarious. Once onboard, they spread themselves across the rows of empty seats.

“The coach driver was really funny too and said you’d be surprised how often it happens,” Rosie said.

Her clip has gone viral on TikTok, amassing 1.2 million views. Among the dozens of comments, many users had questions, such as how many were going on the vacation (seven) and how far away the airport was (“about an hour”).

“Love the distancing between the two already on the bus,” one user commented.

“I mean, he sorted transport,” added another.

“ik [I know] this wasn’t cheap, as links with coaches,” a third said. “He could of just booked a taxi and saved himself a lot.”

A different user shared a similar experience when they were on vacation in Spain. “We got a full on coach that could fit about 50 people!”

Rosie was completely unprepared for how viral her clip would go.

“My phone has not stopped going off with likes and comments,” she said. “My dad thinks it’s hilarious too and has been telling anyone that will listen to him. None of my other videos have ever done that well, so he says it’s all because of him, which is true, I guess.”
