A career criminal with more than 20 prior arrests allegedly stabbed a devoted father to death while he was walking to work in the Bronx, according to police and sources.
George Ennin, 53, was just blocks away from his home around 2 p.m. on Monday when he was approached by 38-year-old Sean Jones — a complete stranger — who knifed him repeatedly outside of 3077 3rd Avenue in the Bronx, authorities said.
Ennin was rushed by EMS to Lincoln Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The father of two girl, who was a security guard, had been on his way to work when he was attacked, ABC 7 reported.
“This man was one in a million, he was a diamond in the rough,” the victim’s neighbor, Michele King, told the outlet. “He raised two daughters single handedly.”
Jones fled the scene on foot but was busted by NYPD in the Bronx on Tuesday afternoon.
He is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
