However, the defending Super Bowl champs have shown other cracks in the foundation through the first six games. The Eagles defensive line was a major reason why Philadelphia made the Super Bowl in 2022 and won the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2024.
Philadelphia has recorded just nine sacks through the first six games. Defensive tackles Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, and linebacker Zack Baun are tied for the most sacks on the defense with two.

Earlier this week, Eagles defensive end Za’Darius Smith, who had 1.5 sacks this season, announced his retirement from the NFL. Following Smith’s retirement, the Eagles were expected to look for outside help at defensive end via the trade market.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham is considering coming out of retirement to rejoin Philadelphia.
“Former Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham is now strongly considering coming out of retirement to sign with Philadelphia, league sources told ESPN,” Schefter wrote. “Graham played 15 seasons in Philadelphia and became the longest-tenured Eagle in franchise history.
“The two-time Super Bowl champion now could be close to building upon those marks if he and the Eagles can finalize a contract this week, according to sources.”
Graham has missed football since retiring. Per Schefter, the Eagles and Graham are “closing in” on a deal.
Philadelphia selected Graham in the first round of the 2010 draft. Graham, 37, has appeared in 206 games and started 106 games. He’s recorded 487 tackles, 23 forced fumbles and 76.5 sacks in his 15-year NFL career.
Graham recorded 3.5 sacks in 11 games played in 2024. He started one game for Philadelphia last season.
