Disney and Google have been locked in a tense debate regarding the former’s properties being shown on the YouTube TV platform.
Just last week YouTube TV sent a message to customers revealing ABC and ESPN would be removed from its platform after the two sides couldn’t agree to a new rights deal.
“In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience,” the company said in a statement at the time.
“Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library.”

Five days later, ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” looms without a resolution to the tension. As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to face off against the Arizona Cardinals, ESPN made a final plea to YouTube TV customers.
“If you are a YouTube TV customer, go to http://keepmynetworks.com now to learn how to get ESPN’s networks back, including for Monday Night Football – Cardinals-Cowboys, tonight on ESPN, ABC and ESPN2,” the message read.
As of Monday, Nov. 3, ABC and ESPN remain unavailable to YouTube TV customers who could now miss out on an NFL game after a number of top college football games – like Texas vs. Vanderbilt – weren’t aired on the platform.
