The small-time podcaster who brought down Ohio State University President Ted Carter had a had a clear-as-day “schoolgirl crush” on him during the multiple interviews he granted her, according to a body language expert.
Krisanthe Vlachos’ affinity for Carter, 66, was on full display during episodes of her “The Callout Podcast” filmed just months before the the academic exec resigned from his $1.5 million-per-year gig, for admittedly giving her “inappropriate access” to university leadership in order to help with her podcasting business.
“There was a difference between how [Vlachos] was communicating with the other panelists versus the president…when I looked at her reaction to Ted versus the others, oh, night and day,” said body language expert Susan Constantine, who reviewed video of episodes from Dec. 31 and Jan. 7.
Vlachos’ body language, which was overwhelmingly “hardened” and “rigid” throughout the episodes, made “unmistakable” shifts when the conversation circled back to Carter – despite efforts to conceal her pleasure, Constantine pointed out.
“We’re seeing the smile contained where you can see almost a wrinkling in her chin. There was a concealed, pressed smile. Eyes were wide open…almost star-like,” the expert explained, adding that these queues indicated a “schoolgirl crush.”
“She would look over, she looked over actually the corner of her eye, and I call this the Princess Diana, the Bambi look,” Constantine continued, and made a face to resemble Vlacho’s “flirtatious glance” to Carter during a video interview with The Post.
“But she was at the same time trying to conceal her emotions, and that’s why we saw the rigidity she was trying to contain. Her gestures, containing her words, her flow. And all of that really spoke volumes to me.”
Carter, on the other hand, “doesn’t show the same sort of flirtatious or, or uncomfortableness that she does,” Constantine noted, adding that the administrator came off “cool as a cucumber” and “in control of the situation.
“You would not know with him that there was anything going on, but she definitely was in her head,” the expert concluded.
Carter admitted in one episode to being a “frequent flyer” of Vlachos’ veterans-focused podcast – where he appeared as a guest at least nine times since 2024.
Despite the ex-president’s stature as one of the most powerful public employees in Ohio, the podcast has repeatedly pulled pitiful ratings – an issue that may have to do with Vlachos’ discomfort behind the mic, Constantine said.
“Her presentation and how she uses her words with pauses and hesitations seem so hard. It was very difficult for the listener to really sense a sense of flow and continuity and” authenticity, the expert pointed out.
“Callout” sponsor JobsOhio said Vlachos and Carter’s relationship – which even saw the disgraced president travel for and sponsor events hosted by the podcaster – could be “possibly connected” to his abrupt resignation Monday.
An Ohio State spokesman later confirmed the podcast was at the center of Carter’s resignation.
Carter and Vlachos have not responded publicly to the relationship allegations.
