The country’s first openly trans lawmaker directed his partner on how to abuse children as young as 3 at a Massachusetts daycare, before asking her if the evil pair would still go to heaven.
Twisted New Hampshire ex-pol Stacie-Marie Laughton, born Barry Laughton, 41, pleaded guilty in the heinous case last week and faces up to 30 years in prison on federal child pornography convictions after exchanging despicable images with his partner, 40-year-old Lindsay Groves.
In sickening text message exchanges laid out in court documents, the pair discuss in detail their perverted fantasies, as Laughton, a former state legislator, egged on his partner to abuse the children in her care.
Groves sent at least four explicit pictures of children between the ages of 3 and 5 to Laughton, all taken at the Creative Minds daycare in Tyngsborough, Mass., where she worked between May 2022 and June 2023.
In between lurid instructions to his then-partner on how to abuse the children, Laughton expressed his fears that the pair would be arrested for their heinous acts.
“I don’t wanna get caught if we do,” Laughton wrote in a text message to Groves on June 7, 2023, according to the criminal complaint.
“Lots of parents don’t like people touching their kids and it is against the law,” added the Democratic ex-politician, who was previously forced to resign twice as a state representative with the New Hampshire House over separate legal issues.
He resigned in 2012 over a credit card fraud conviction after winning election but before he could even take office, then was elected again and served from 2020 to 2022 before stepping away a second time over a stalking arrest.
In another text on June 14, 2023, Laughton talked about wanting to become a church minister and asked Groves if he will still go to heaven despite his crimes.
“Do you think God is OK with us being bad girls?” he said, according to the criminal complaint, adding, “Do you think we still have a place in heaven? Do you think God would still be OK with me being a minister?”
Groves texted back, “Yes god is ok with it and we will still go to heaven and he thinks you be [sic] a great minister.”
The pair’s crimes were uncovered in June 2023 after Laughton sent the images to a third person.
“I don’t like that I have these but I wanted to show you the proof. I am not a kid pervert,” Laughton said in the message, according to the criminal complaint.
The recipient immediately notified the Nashua Police Department.
The ex-pol and Groves are due to be sentenced in February.
