A Florida man has been arrested after he posted a photo of himself holding an AR-15 style rifle with the caption: “MAGA Otw to kill trump.”
Nick Guadalupe Cruz-Lopez, 20, shared the post on Instagram on April 2 and federal agents located and arrested him the same day, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida. He was charged with making a threat to kill the President of the United States.
“A criminal complaint is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty,” the attorney’s office said.
