A former WWE champion has stated that AEW star MJF could be ‘one of the best heels ever’ if he signed with WWE. That former champion is Maven, who has been outspoken on his own podcast and in interviews.

Speaking on the “Inside the Ring” podcast, Maven named his favorite active wrestler. The former WWF Hardcore Champion revealed that AEW star MJF takes the top spot in his mind.

Maven revealed his reasoning for naming MJF. He also shared his vision for what the star could accomplish if he were to make the jump to WWE.

“My favorite wrestler today is MJF, I think he’s just a genius,” Maven said. “I think what he’s doing is legendary.”

He then explained that the WWE platform would elevate MJF to an all-time great status. “If he ever gets a chance to go to WWE, I think he’ll be one of the best heels ever.”

This sentiment has been echoed by other major figures in the industry, including John Cena. Cena shared his hope that MJF would also sign with WWE in the future.

Their meeting occurred at “The Iron Claw” movie premiere last December. Cena later said he was floored by MJF’s professionalism and told him, “Maybe we can get you to play for the right team one day.”

MJF has previously discussed his contract status, which was the subject of the “Bidding War of 2024” storyline. It is now reported that his current AEW deal does not expire until 2027.

While Maven praised the top star of AEW, he has also been candid about WWE’s top stars. As for current WWE talent, Maven recently shared his praise of Bron Breakker when he was asked who should be the final opponent for John Cena’s retirement match.

He has also shared his honest thoughts on CM Punk, who just captured the World Heavyweight Championship at “Saturday Night’s Main Event.” Maven has previously been critical of both Punk and Triple H, referring to them as “untrustworthy.”

While Maven speculates on his WWE potential, MJF remains one of AEW’s most prominent, and dangerous, stars. His last major feud was a violent rivalry with Mark Briscoe, which included a “Tables ‘n’ Tacks Match” at “AEW All Out” in September.

Following that match, MJF’s volatile nature was on full display when he recently threatened to set Briscoe on fire. Despite his high-profile status, MJF is not currently scheduled for a match at AEW’s next pay-per-view, “Full Gear,” which takes place on November 22nd.
