The New York Giants are on the hunt for their next head coach following the dismissal of Brian Daboll on Monday afternoon.
Daboll, who had been the Giants’ head coach since 2022, was fired after the team’s most recent loss to the Chicago Bears. That Week 10 loss marked New York’s fourth consecutive defeat, dropping their 2025 season record to 2-8.
For now, the organization will be led by interim head coach Mike Kafka.
NFL analysts are already beginning to float potential replacements for Daboll as the Giants look toward their next coaching era.
Soon after the Giants’ decision to part ways with Daboll, former NFL quarterback/ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III urged the organization to go after Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin.
“The New York Giants should hire Lane Kiffin,” Griffin wrote on X.

Kiffin is already one of the hottest names in the ongoing college football coaching carousel — with big-name job openings at Florida, Auburn, LSU and Penn State. Now, his name is gathering steam as a possible option for the NFL’s Giants.
The Giants seem to have found their next franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart, a former standout signal caller for Kiffin’s Ole Miss program. During a recent appearance with the “Bleav in Ole Miss” podcast, Dart’s father said his son still has “constant communication” with Coach Kiffin.
“I think Kiffin is one of his most trusted allies, and I think he uses him for advice in a lot of different ways,” Dart’s father said. “… So, there’s constant communication between them, even today, and there’s a lot of that between our families. I don’t think we could have asked for a more special coach relationship between our family and our son. So, we’re very, very grateful for coach Kiff.”

Kiffin and Ole Miss are 9-1 so far this season, suffering their only loss in a closely-contested road game against the Georgia Bulldogs. As such, the Rebels are primed for a likely trip to the College Football Playoff.
Ole Miss will face off against the Florida Gators in their next matchup on Saturday.
The Giants will take the field for their first game without Daboll in Sunday’s Week 11 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
