The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 6, 2025, and the nominees have been announced live from Los Angeles this morning, with Emilia Pérez, Conclave, and The Brutalist emerging as the top contenders in the film categories, with ten nominations for Emilia Pérez, six for Conclave, and seven for The Brutalist.
Anyone who’s been keeping an eye on the awards race will be unsurprised to see these films performing well among voters as they’ve been frontrunners throughout the year, with Emilia Pérez‘s campaignkicking off in Cannes where the film secured the Jury Prize.
Another highlight from the announcements is that Sebastian Stan became a double nominee for his performances in Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man and the controversial Donald Trump biopic from Ali Abbasi, The Apprentice.
Voters will now have until January 1, 2025, to submit their final ballots ahead of the awards show on January 6, which will air on CBS at 5pm PT / 8pm ET.
