What do you see?
An optical illusion is dividing the internet over whether the picture is of pink slime or three forks laid out on a hot pink dish towel — and it’s making people’s brains hurt.
Deemed as the “black and gold dress” of 2026, in the viral TikTok video, content creator Lexi Natoli, who goes by the username @yolkfather, shows a head-scratching image that millions of viewers can’t seem to figure out.
“When you first looked at this, did you see some weird, pink slime dripping down? Or are you normal and did you see forks?” Natoli asked in the viral video, with almost 6 million views.
“I literally looked at this for the first time and my brain couldn’t comprehend what I was looking at and I thought it was some weird, alien pink slime dripping down. My husband looks at it and goes, ‘Those are forks.’”
It’s unknown who the original image belongs to, and while it hasn’t been confirmed what it’s actually of, thousands of commenters chimed in under the video with their thoughts.
Many saw the forks.
“How do people NOT see forks?”
“the forks are laying down on a pink towel.”
“genuinely trying to see anything but forks.”
While others were shocked that they didn’t see the kitchen utensil at first glance.
“I saw pink, what looked like thin strips of microfiber cleaning fabric… and I didnt see the forks until you said the work forks and then they magically appeared.”
“Pink weird fuzzy carrot thingies.”
“I swear those forks were not there until you pointed them out.”
“IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO SEE FORKS”
“looks like microfiber cleaning pads.”
This optical illusion was created to rattle people. It’s described as an ambiguous image, or a reversible figure, which is a picture purposely designed to be perceived in more than one way.
Popular examples of this kind are the rabbit-duck illusion, in which both a duck and a rabbit can be seen and Rubin’s vase, in which people couldn’t figure out whether it is a black vase or two white, facing profiles in the image.
