• The final list will be announced at the beginning of July.
  • 8 players from Olympique Lyonnais are on the list.
  • Amel Majri and Clara Mateo are the two biggest absentees.

On Thursday, June 20, Hervé Renard presented his pre-list of players selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as for the last 2 matches of the Euro 2025 Qualifiers against Sweden and Ireland.

The players will arrive in Clairefontaine on Monday, June 24, in order to prepare for these two upcoming competitions.

Amel Majri Is Not Called-Up

Unsurprisingly, the French coach announced a pre-list of 26 players, with no major changes, as Amel Majri is yet again left out of this list.

Justifying his decision to not call-up Majri, the former Saudi Arabia head coach said, “I consider her a forward. I took 6 players plus 1, as Becho is suspended for the first match. We have to make choices, and that is the choice that I made today.”

Another absentee on this list is Paris FC’s playmaker Clara Mateo. With 8 goals and 8 assists, the French midfielder has been one of the D1 Arkéma’s most influential players. Seeing her miss the list has led to questions being asked, primarily by the fans.

Le Sommer Is In The List

Currently recovering from a knee injury she sustained last March, Eugénie Le Sommer featured in Renard’s pre-list alongside her club teammate Griedge Mbock.

The all-time top scorer of the French women’s national team (192 caps, 93 goals) is currently continuing her recovery program at Clairefontaine and will be hopeful to make the final list of 18 players. Or maybe the 4-reserves list?

A press conference will be held on Monday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m. (Paris time) in Clairefontaine, for journalists.

The final list of 18 players and 4 reserves will be revealed at the beginning of July. As a reminder, France will face Colombia, Canada, and New Zealand in the Paris 2024 football tournament’s group stage.
