Indiana stunned the host Aces 89-73 in Game 1 behind 34 points from Kelsey Mitchell while smothering the No. 2 seed defensively, holding MVP A’ja Wilson to 16 points on 6-of-22 shooting. The Fever are playing with house money after already knocking off the third-seeded Atlanta Dream in the first round. Odyssey Sims added 17 points, and Natasha Howard posted 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Wilson, also the WNBA co-Defensive Player of the Year, did record 13 rebounds and four blocks while Jackie Young led the offense with 19 points. Las Vegas was dominated in the paint to the tune of 50-38 and never led in the second half. Indiana took control in the third period, hitting 9-of-11 from the floor, while Wilson picked up three fouls in just 6:39.
