The Magic come in as slight favorites, despite missing their best player, Paolo Banchero, who is dealing with a groin injury. Even so, Orlando’s shown flashes of balance as its offense averages about 118.3 points per game, and Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane, alongside some of their other role players, have kept the scoring from falling off. Wagner in particular has carried the heavy load with Banchero out, and he is averaging 23 points per game.
For the 76ers, the spotlight falls heavily on Tyrese Maxey. With Joel Embiid having been sidelined and likely not playing again tonight, Maxey will likely carry the bulk of the offensive burden. He’s averaging around 33 points and 7.8 assists per game. Paul George has returned to the lineup after missing the start of the year, but he has yet to play big minutes in a game despite starting. It will be interesting to see if he can ramp things up in this one and give Maxey some much-needed help on the offensive end.
