Ole Miss is looking to earn some respect at the top of the SEC pecking order this Saturday when it travels to Sanford Stadium to take on Georgia. And the matchup gives the Rebels their chance to inflict back-to-back defeats upon the Bulldogs for the first time in almost 30 years.
That being said, host outfit Georgia is a 7.5-point favorite to earn its revenge following a 28-10 defeat in Oxford around this time last year. That result was only the second time Ole Miss has got the better of the Bulldogs in their past 13 meetings, though the 2016 triumph was one of the results scratched from the record books for fielding ineligible players.
Junior Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton has struggled to lift his team from their habit of first-half hesitancy, starting slow in each of their SEC games so far this year. But a more complete performance will be required against the threat of Ole Miss, which is chasing its first win in Athens since 1996.
