As current holders of the Ryder Cup, the European team only needs 14 points to retain it, while the United States must get 14.5 points to win the Ryder Cup.
Keegan Bradley captains the American team and features Scottie Scheffler, J. J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay, and Sam Burns.
Luke Donald captains the Europe team and features Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Robert MacIntyre (Scotland), Tommy Fleetwood (England), Justin Rose (England), Rasmus Højgaard (Denmark), Tyrrell Hatton (England), Shane Lowry (Ireland), Sepp Straka (Austria), Ludvig Åberg (Sweden), Viktor Hovland (Norway), Matt Fitzpatrick (England) and Jon Rahm (Spain).
For the USA team, Spaun, Henley, Griffin, and Young are making their Ryder Cup debut, while this is the maiden tournament for only Højgaard on the Europe team.
Europe captured the Ryder Cup in 2023 with a 16.5 – 11.5 victory in Italy. The home side has now won five straight editions, with the last road triumph coming in 2012 when Europe stunned the U.S. at Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
