WWE might be undergoing another significant shift in presentation. Recently, the top professional wrestling company has been using older superstar theme songs on “Raw” and “SmackDown.” The change was reportedly made at the request of several WWE stars. Bodyslam now reports that Def Rebel, WWE’s lead for music production, is in its final contract with the company.

There’s no word on when the deal is set to expire. It was also noted in the report that WWE is planning to work with musicians outside of the company for theme songs. It would be a significant change to WWE’s TV presentation, as Def Rebel has worked with the promotion since 2019.

Other Changes on WWE TV

WWE has reportedly made some key additions to its creative team on the “Friday Night SmackDown” brand. It was said that key figures backstage weren’t entirely satisfied with how the show was being perceived and have made efforts to improve quality.

Friday’s episode of the blue brand received praise from fans, as the show marked the returns of Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga along with the aforementioned return of old theme songs. Fans also got a glimpse of the creative shift with a tease of a feud between the Wyatt Sicks and the MFT factions.

As far as “WWE Raw” is concerned, there was a major storyline twist that took place on Monday, but that appears to have been done due to a legit injury. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was betrayed by his former Vision stablemates Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman. Rollins reportedly suffered a shoulder injury during his “WWE Crown Jewel” match with Cody Rhodes and is set to undergo testing to determine the severity.
