Congratulations are in order for an Indianapolis Colts cheerleader who got the surprise of her life when her now-fiancé snuck onto the field to pop the question.
The NFL cheerleader, named Mika, thought it was just another game day while doing her spirited routine in between quarters when the Colts faced off against the Arizona Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
Her then-boyfriend, Spencer, had other plans: walking through a tunnel of her fellow cheerleaders, who raised their pom-poms as he made his way toward her while wearing a blue-and-white jersey with the message “Marry Me” written on the back.
Mika was totally unaware until Spencer was right behind her, turning around to see him down on one knee with a dazzling ring in hand. She was instantly overcome with emotion, fighting back tears before accepting his proposal with a kiss and showing off her new bling. The cheer squad then celebrated the special moment with the couple, surrounding them for a group hug.
“Gonna be a hard routine to beat 💙💍 Congratulations, Mika and Spencer!” the official Colts Cheer Instagram posted.
“BEST DAY EVER 🤍🤍 THANK YOU EVERYONE!!” Mika commented in return.
Mika also celebrated the momentous occasion with her own post, sharing photos from Sunday’s game. “The most amazing day made possible by the most amazing people 💍💕,” she wrote.
Spencer and Mika are set to celebrate their two-year anniversary in December.
Earlier this year, the lovebirds enjoyed a “magical birthday” at Disney World Magic Kingdom Orlando. Her husband-to-be was also her date for a wedding they attended last July at the Akron Art Museum.
“Roses are red🌹 Violets are blue Your dress is lilac And it looks stunning on you,” he captioned the photo of them dressed to impress for the occasion.
Not only did Mika get engaged on Sunday, but her team secured a 31-27 win over the Cardinals. Quarterback Daniel Jones helped lead the Colts to victory, while running back Jonathan Taylor secured one yard for the score with just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Rookie tight end Tyler Warren caught six passes for 63 yards and scored a touchdown.
Jones, 28, is now being praised for his accomplishment. “Only two QBs have led the Colts to 5 wins through 6 weeks since 2000 Peyton Manning Daniel Jones,” NFL on CBS posted via X.
“We had to make sure we fought through and played together till the end,” Taylor, 26, said of the last-minute win. “I think it just showed the way we continued fighting, scratching, clawing and then down at the end we had to be dominant on the line of scrimmage.”
“We knew it was going to be a back-and-forth game,” Colts coach Shane Steichen also shared. “And it was great to see the offense there at the end, go down and get that touchdown to go up 31-27.”
Looking ahead, the Colts will take on the Los Angeles Chargers on October 19.
