In one of the more shocking turns of events, the Baltimore Ravens backed out of their agreed-upon trade with the Las Vegas Raiders centered around Maxx Crosby after he failed his physical.

Now, Crosby is back in a Raiders uniform and while he has personally embraced his return to Las Vegas, a potential trade — while more unlikely now — is still not off the table, as several teams are rumored to be inquiring about the Pro Bowl pass rusher.

One team consistently linked to those rumors from the start has been the Dallas Cowboys. While the Cowboys have made a handful of moves this offseason, which has diminished the odds of them trading for Crosby to some extent, owner Jerry Jones is reportedly not ruling it out just yet.

In his first public comments on the matter since Crosby’s trade to Baltimore was ultimately rescinded, Jones turned some heads across the league.

“We’re pretty far down the road relative to what our plans are,” Jones told reporters Thursday in Arlington, Texas. “So while I don’t anticipate it, I don’t want to rule anything out.”

Jones is no stranger to stirring the pot and generating attention around the Dallas Cowboys, and this situation is no different, giving the Dallas fanbase a bit of hope that a trade for Crosby could materialize.

However, considering the team chose not to give Micah Parsons the deal he was seeking last offseason, it’s hard to imagine they would trade a significant amount of draft capital to acquire another pass rusher on a similar tier. Paying Crosby roughly $30 million in 2026 would also seem unlikely.
