Justin Trudeau’s son Xavier Trudeau shared his thoughts on his dad’s romance with Katy Perry.
While chatting with influencer G Hobs in a recent video, Xavier, 18, opened up about his dad’s connection with Perry, 41.
“Let’s address the elephant in the room. Have you met Katy Perry?” Hobs asked, to which Xavier replied with a smile, “Yeah, I have.”
He elaborated, “She’s cool. Yeah, she’s nice,” before revealing the pop star has given him advice on his own musical career. “Yeah! We’ve talked for, like, hours, talking about my music,” Xavier said.
“She gave me advice and next steps for me and stuff,” he added.
When asked for details about Perry’s April 2025 trip to space, Xavier laughed and said he hadn’t asked her yet.
“Did she even go on the moon?” he questioned the content creator, who told him that she went to space.
Justin, 54, who is the former Prime Minister of Canada, is also the dad of Ella Grace, 17, and Hadrien, 11, whom he shares with ex-wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
Perry and Justin were first spotted out to dinner in Montreal in July 2025. Days later, he attended her Lifetimes Tour in the Canadian city. At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that their outing was “definitely” a date, but they were keeping it “casual.”
In October 2025, they made another public appearance together while walking out of a club holding hands.
That same month, a source told Us the singer is “really into” her romance with Justin, noting that Perry’s friends gave Justin the green light when they met him.
“She’s very happy,” the insider gushed. “She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.”
In December 2025, Justin and Perry met with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during a getaway.
Kishida, 68, took to Instagram to share a photo of the group posing together.
“Former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau came to Japan with his partner, Katy Perry, and had lunch with us,” he captioned the pic. “During my time as Prime Minister, I met Prime Ministers many times, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the Nikka Action Plan. I am glad that we are continuing this friendship.”
Last month, Perry shared an adorable pic of herself giving Justin a kiss on the cheek while they enjoyed a lakeside day.
Perry was previously engaged to Orlando Bloom. The duo met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty. In May of that year, they made their relationship Instagram official before breaking up in February 2017.
One year later, the duo rekindled their relationship and took a trip to the Maldives. In February 2019, Bloom, 49, got down on one knee and proposed to Perry. In March 2020, she announced that they were expecting their first baby together in her “Never Worn White” music video.
Perry gave birth to their little one, Daisy Dove, in August 2020. Us confirmed in June 2025 that Perry and Bloom called off their engagement.
