Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are calling it quits after nearly two decades of marriage, but the country star still quite literally wears his heart on his sleeve — and other parts of his body.
Urban has long marked his devotion to Kidman in ink, with several tattoos seemingly paying tribute to his now-estranged wife, whom he married in June 2006 before welcoming their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14.
The Oscar winner had long been her beau’s “babygirl” even before she starred in a movie of the same name in 2024. (He has the word permanently etched on the back of his neck.)
A source confirmed to Us Weekly on September 29 that Kidman and Urban had separated nearly two decades after exchanging vows in Australia, where both of them grew up.
News of Kidman and Urban’s split came as a surprise to many fans as she was spotted wearing her original wedding band while attending a Clé de Peau Beauté event in Los Angeles on September 25. The actress posed for photos with the vintage Cartier infinity band that Urban gave her at their nuptials. Plus, she also has an updated emerald-cut diamond set in platinum that she got in 2016.

“He actually has ‘babygirl’ tattooed on the back of his neck. Keith’s not allowed to call anyone else babygirl. But now, because of the film, it’s taken on a different meaning,” she told W Magazine for The Art Issue about his ink in November 2024. “So he’s like, ‘No, I still have total rights over babygirl!’”
She continued, “I don’t know if [writer-director] Halina [Reijn] knows that, but it’s all part of this sprinkling of fairy dust that happens.”

Kidman’s first name was initially surrounded by hearts on his arm. The “Blue Ain’t Your Color” hitmaker first revealed the ink — in a script font — around 2007. Years later, Urban seemingly expanded the design on his right bicep by adding Celtic elements.

Urban has yet another nod to his romance with the actress — her initials “NMK” a.k.a. Nicole Mary Kidman — which was a cover-up design.
His former ink featured the words “amor vincit omnia,” a Latin phrase translated to “love conquers all,” People reported. Urban got the phrase in a matching tattoo with supermodel ex-girlfriend Niki Taylor in the early 2000s.
She notably appeared in Urban’s music video for his 2002 hit “Somebody Like You.”
“His career got really busy, I got really busy, and we never saw each other,” Taylor told the outlet after they went their separate ways, per StyleCaster. “We’re still friends, and I’m so happy for him and Nicole.”

The crooner was spotted with his “Mary” letter tattoos spanning from his index finger to pinky knuckles on his right hand in April 2021 while hosting the ACM Awards — seemingly another reference to Kidman as Mary is her middle name.
