Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are seemingly on good terms following their breakup.
Ballerini, 32, and Stokes, 33, were recently spotted together near Scotland’s Edinburgh Castle, an eyewitness exclusively tells Us Weekly.
“He was very nice. We had a wee chat about how he was having a holiday in Scotland before going to Croatia to film the final season of Outer Banks, “ the source tells Us of meeting Stokes, who even took selfies with fans. “They both seemed really happy and smiley.”
According to the insider, Stokes and Ballerini “seemed like the sweetest people” during their outing at Cannonball Restaurant & Bar.
“They were very much loved-up and holding hands at the bar,” the source notes.
Neither Stokes nor Ballerini have addressed their recent Scottish getaway or their relationship status. Us reached out to reps for both stars for comment.
Weeks later, the former couple were spotted together again in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on Friday, November 7.
Us confirmed in September that the “I Sit in Parks” singer and Stokes broke up after two years of dating.
“It was a hard split,” a second source told Us at the time. “They had been arguing a lot recently, and their communication wasn’t great in the last month. They were both traveling so much and trying to juggle everything, and the arguments piled up.”
While the second insider revealed that Ballerini “initiated” the breakup conversation, she and Stokes both handled the situation with maturity.
“There is still a lot of love between them,” the source said at the time. “Although it’s been a few years, Kelsea is still coming out of a divorce and figuring out what she really wants, and she’s not in a place where she’s going to just settle. Chase understood that, but in the end, they realized they weren’t aligning the way they hoped.”
Ballerini started dating the Outer Banks actor in 2023, months after finalizing her divorce from fellow country singer Morgan Evans.
“I was ready to open back up,” Ballerini said on a February 2023 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast about dating after her divorce. “I just felt, ‘Why not? I’ve never really dated. I don’t know how it works.’ I’m like, ‘Let’s just put ourselves out there. Let’s just vibe.’ And it’s been fun.”
The Grammy nominee introduced herself to Stokes via Instagram.
“I slid into his DMs,” she told podcast host Alex Cooper. “I just swan dove right on in. His handle is ‘hichasestokes’ and I just said, ‘Hi Chase Stokes.’”
Ballerini and Stokes made their red carpet debut at the 2023 CMT Music Awards that April.
“He’s the most emotionally intelligent man I’ve ever met in my life,” Ballerini said during a November 2023 episode of Cooper’s podcast. “I keep telling him he’s a man written by a woman. My experience with [sex] was very performative and for the other person. “It don’t be like that anymore. I didn’t understand how [sex] could be a real connector in a relationship. I always thought it was just something that you did. … Now, I realize it’s a connector for people.”
Two years later, Ballerini told Us how their relationship had transformed after several years of dating.
“You do [challenge each other], or it’s boring and then you’re stagnant and then that’s not going to work out,” she exclusively told Us in July. “I think we’re two and a half years in, so [the relationship] looks a lot different now than it did in the beginning. I don’t know, I think we’re really similar — and in the ways that we’re different, that’s where we challenge each other. … I just want all the good things in the world for him.”
