Kim Kardashian opened up about her workout routine.
Kardashian, 44, gave fans her personal tips and tricks to staying in shape while chatting with Vogue on Monday, September 22, simultaneously introducing her NikeSkims line.
“I’m a big weightlifter, so I do lots of weights,” she said, explaining that she’s dealt with “back issues” in the past and occasionally needs to “readjust some” of her workouts. ”But I have to do lower body in order to stay toned.”
Kardashian added, “I do a few days of upper body. I usually pick a body part, and we stick to that for the day. I do an hour and a half a day, with weights and stretching, and a little bit of cardio.”
Besides weights and cardio, Kardashian shared that she’s also a big fan of pilates.
“I find when I don’t incorporate pilates at least once a week, I can feel it in my back,” she said. “I definitely need that lengthening and stretching.” An added bonus of pilates is that she gets to wear her leggings designed specifically for the workouts, which she loves.
“I love to work out — it’s my therapy,” she noted.
Kardashian announced NikeSkims on Monday, sharing that it will be released on Friday, September 26. Fans can shop the line, which caters to athleticwear, on Skims.com, Nike.com and in select retail stores of both brands.
The Skims founder gushed about the launch to Vogue, sharing that the partnership “made sense” as a next stop for her expanding brand.
“Skims is very body-oriented — we do swimwear, loungewear, shapewear — so our next evolution was that we really wanted to do activewear,” she said. “Our dream was to work with Nike: Their legacy, innovation, and athlete insights — it was the perfect thing to mix with Skims, and our dedication to the female form.”
