Amid rumors of his coaching future, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin posted an image responding directly to links connecting him to the Florida Gators’ opening.

Kiffin is one of the hottest names in the rumor mill, with college football experts predicting that he could land at multiple coaching openings.

This season, more than usual, a good deal of programs are cutting their coaches loose mid-season, opting to pay big payouts if it means starting fresh with new leadership.

After a successful rebuilding of Ole Miss into a powerhouse, Kiffin’s stock as a coach has never been higher, and the high potential of these openings was meant to appeal to him.

However, before the Ole Miss-Florida game, Kiffin made a resounding commitment to his team, and he notably trolled one of his potential SEC suitors.

He posted a picture on X of two hats that say “Kiffin 2026” in Ole Miss colors as he was escorted to the stadium pregame.

Florida is reportedly making a strong push to hire the former USC head coach, but the talks appear to have stalled or may never have occurred, as Kiffin is firmly committed to the Rebels.

While he appears to be staying, Kiffin has previously stated that specific programs have inherent advantages.

“People will say it’s narrowed, and some stuff has narrowed because you can’t stockpile [talent] at those blue bloods, or however you want to refer to it,” Kiffin said.

“But there are still things where you’re gonna struggle to beat those guys because kids get recruited, and they see the size of stadiums, traditions, Heismans and national championships. Then your location to talent. I think all of those are in there.”

Florida, LSU, and Penn State are just a handful of teams looking for a new coach. All three hold notable potential if the right person comes in and optimally utilizes the available resources, although Kiffin appears to be intent on doing so at Ole Miss.
