Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall took to social media to react to the Anthony Davis trade that sent the 10-time All-Star to the Washington Wizards.

Marshall sent this one-word message on his social media.

The Mavericks traded Davis to the Wizards on Wednesday in a massive deal, also sending Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum. In return, Dallas is acquiring Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, two first-round picks, and three second-rounders.

The first-round picks include a 2026 Thunder pick and a 2030 protected Warriors pick. The second-round selections are a 2026 pick from the Suns, a 2027 pick from the Bulls, and a 2029 pick from the Rockets.

Marshall is currently in his second season with the team. He signed a three-year, $27 million contract with Dallas in 2024 after he spent the first four seasons of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans.

However, his time with Dallas could be coming to an end. Although Marshall has expressed his desire to stay with the Mavericks organization long-term, Dallas could be looking to trade the 28-year-old New Jersey native.

Nonetheless, that is not stopping Marshall from making it abundantly clear that he wants to stay and play alongside rookie phenom Cooper Flagg. Marshall expressed that desire in a recent interview with Romn Harrod Jr. of DLLS Sports.

“I want to play with Cooper Flagg my whole (expletive) career,” Marshall said. “That’s my dog, and he’s gonna create history. And to be a part of that would be unbelievable.”

NBA insider Marc Stein reiterated that the Mavericks do not want to trade Marshall or Max Christie; however, that could change if a first-round pick is offered.

In the season, the former undrafted forward has averaged 14.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 52.9 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc.
