The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley got brutally honest about how she was “still bleeding and wearing pads” while filming season 4 weeks after giving birth.

“I was in survival mode filming szn 4,” Mayci, who gave birth to her and husband Jacob Neeley’s daughter Charli in July 2025, recalled in an Instagram Q&A on Monday, March 16. “I started filming around 3 weeks PP and was literally still bleeding and wearing pads to filming. I was also exclusively breastfeeding and started pumping while traveling. Therefore I brought Charli with me everywhere.”

Mayci specifically addressed why Charli was shown on screen when her other kids — son Hudson, 10, and daughter Harlow, 5 — weren’t featured.

“I tried not showing her face for the most part — mostly holding her away from camera, but there’s times where I was so exhausted that I was like ok whatever maybe I’ll ask them to blur her in post,” she continued. “By the time we finished filming I brought it up to Jacob and we discussed whether to ask them to blur her face. We ultimately decided not to ask because it would have been last minute and caused a lot of stress since most of the episodes were locked.”

The couple ultimately didn’t regret their decision.

“Additionally, we figured she’s so little and her face is changing so much that she won’t even look the same by the time the show comes out,” she continued. “I also was feeling like I wanted to see her face when I watched the show be I missed out on so much of my PP time and I literally feel like I blacked out and don’t remember.”

She concluded: “So I kinda wanted to see her for memories etc. Idk those are a dump of my thoughts. But regardless it’s something I’m still navigating and moving forward in future seasons I will ask for her face to be blurred — and I also try not to have my kids around when I am filming period.”

Season 4 of the hit Hulu series, which premiered on Thursday, March 12, highlighted Mayci’s postpartum journey while promoting her memoir, Told You So. After the episodes aired, Mayci revealed that Charli was recently admitted to the hospital for breathing issues.

“Wanted to give an update for awareness [because] trusting my instincts was absolutely crucial,” she shared via Instagram Stories on Thursday about how she experienced an “anxious, sick feeling” about her youngest daughter during a work meeting.

“Our nanny was holding her and I could tell just by touching her that her temp was high,” the reality star continued, noting that Charli had a 102-degree fever. Doctors determined that Charli’s lungs sounded “wheezy” and she was diagnosed with a double ear infection.

After getting checked out in the ER, Charli received steroids, antibiotics and was admitted to the hospital overnight.

“The anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal,” Mayci wrote. “But ultimately, I felt so grateful I trusted my instincts! The doctor kept telling me ‘You did the right thing by coming in,’ which reassured me.”

Mayci confirmed that Charli was later discharged with the recommendation that she use oxygen, adding, “We are home and Charli girl finally smiled for the first time in a few days which makes me feel like she’s finally feeling better.”

She concluded: “I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital, so I’m so so so grateful we took her in. I was also supposed to be in New York for work yesterday and canceled that trip a few days ago. Call it divine intervention or coincidence, but I do think everything happens for a reason.”
