New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel is making sure that the practice environment is as close to Super Bowl 60 as possible — and that apparently includes simulating the upcoming Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
During the team’s practice on Friday, February 6 — just two days before the big game — Vrabel reportedly sent players to the locker room an hour into the practice, then proceeded to blast Bad Bunny music for 14 minutes.
Vrabel then brought the team back out to the practice field as they concluded a few last-minute drills.
“We still have time to prepare,” Vrabel said in the practice report, per reporter Lindsay Jones. “There’s a lot of time to finetune things and to get themselves physically and mentally ready to play, but I also want them to be able to enjoy their time with families and people they care about.”
The Patriots are set to face off against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Back in September 2025, the NFL announced Latin pop star Bad Bunny as the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performer, a decision that was met with instant feedback — both positive and negative — including from President Donald Trump and his administration.
Bad Bunny, 31, quickly laughed off the criticism during his Saturday Night Live hosting stint the month after the announcement.
“You may not know this but I’m doing the Super Bowl halftime show,” he told the audience during his monologue. “I’m very happy and I think everyone is very happy about it! Even Fox News …”
He added, “Really, I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl and I know people all around the world who love my music are also happy.”
After briefly speaking in Spanish, he joked, “If you didn’t understand now what I just said, you have four months to learn!”
During the 2026 Grammy Awards presentation on Sunday, February 1, Bad Bunny won three Grammys including the coveted Album of the Year award.
Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold shared his excitement for the halftime performance, despite the fact that Darnold won’t be able to watch the show himself.
“It’s unbelievable,” Darnold, 28, said at Super Bowl Opening Night on February 2. “I love his music. It’s great to have him perform at the Super Bowl.”
He continued, “I wish that I could see it, but I’m afraid I’ll be getting ready for the second half at that moment. But I know a lot of people are excited about him performing.”
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also addressed the halftime show, calling Bad Bunny “one of the great artists in the world.”
“This platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents, and to be able to use this moment to do that,” Goodell told reporters. “I think artists in the past have done that. I think Bad Bunny understands that. I think he’ll have a great performance.”
A recent poll by The Athletic showed that NFL players are split on their support of Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl performance.
The survey showed that 41.4 percent of players did not “like” the rapper being chosen as the halftime performer. On the other hand, 58.6 percent of the players polled said they were in favor of the selection.
